Our Dyno

We own one of the country's only hub-chassis dynamometers, based at our UK test centre. We have been hard at work, testing a multitude of remaps to ensure that we deliver only the best software to our customers.

The hub-chassis dyno is superior to the more traditional rolling roads as it provides a more accurate reading. This is because, unlike with a rolling road, the large eddy current power absorption units are attached directly to the vehicle's hubs, so no power is lost during the process of transferring the power from the vehicle to the sets of rollers. This direct attachment to the hubs produces far superior readings as a result. More importantly, during engine calibration, our dyno is able to accurately hold each individual speed and load site, from idle to full power; this means that we can quickly populate the calibration map, limiting stress to your vehicle powertrain.

Our dyno is also capable of easily and safely handling horsepower values up to 2000 BHP, meaning that there are very few vehicles which we are unable to test on our system.

Additional Equipment

At Remap Kings, we also have a wide range of supporting equipment for testing vehicles on our dynamometer, depending on the application in use. These include:

  • Exhaust gas thermocouples – we use these sensors to allow safe measurement of the engine exhaust gas temperatures. The ECU in a vehicle measures this, but in taking these measurements again, we ensure that the figures being provided to the ECU are accurate. In combination with our standard dyno testing, this helps us to ensure that all our remaps are perfectly tuned for our customers when we install them.
  • Multiple gas analysers – this tool, most commonly used in the testing of diesel engines, allows us to measure the pollutant output in the engine exhaust, ensuring it remains within safe parameters. Our equipment provides compliance level accuracy meaning that we know our remaps will not compromise the ability of your vehicle to remain within emissions standards.
  • Horiba MEXA-730λ Air Fuel Ratio Analyser – we use this equipment to ensure that the engine is still burning appropriate amounts of fuel after a remap. This is done to guarantee to our customers that the remap will not increase your fuel consumption, and to make sure that the engine continues to utilise the appropriate amounts of fuel across its RPM range.
  • Intake air and exhaust gas mass flow measurement – while running remaps on the dyno, alongside measuring the air-fuel ratio, we also measure the mass flow of air into the engine, and out of the exhaust. This is done to determine that our ECU remaps do not cause the engine to draw in too much air, ensuring that it will continue to burn at safe temperatures. This guarantees that the fuel efficiency of your vehicle will not be negatively impacted by our remaps.
